The entire apartment smells like olive oil, or it could just be me. I did use about half a cup frying up some four slices of napoli with some melted romano cheese (NOT Parmesan.) It was a good lunch.
The first class was pretty cool. We had it in this long narrow gallery lined with various photographs of low res photos. Bennet and Everett have a pretty good knack for making the subject interesting and sometime funny to listen to.
Our trip organizer, Isadoro, showed up for a visit. It was awkward when she said, "we are savages" for not having anything but a dsl connection to the internet in Italy. Everett aleviated the discomfort by telling her that "savages don't make food so good." Thank god!
Bennet was not quite as tactful, getting overtly annoyed when the language barrier prevented either him or Isadoro from fully understanding each other concerning the spotty internet service.
So apparently tomrrow (June 2nd) is some sort of national holiday that nobody, including Isadoro, had any idea what it was about (she later figured it it has something to do with the constitution of the Republic...the Italian one, not the Star Wars one.) Because of this the school where we are have lecture will be closed, prompting Everett to invite us to his apartment, which, according to him is very spacious with couches (plural. He has the place to himself.)
The rest of the day was spent snoozing. It was raining afterall, but still it would have been nice to get out. Tomrrow I'm planning on running to prevent me from collapsing prematurly on the couch. I'm pretty much going to try and exhaust myself physically until I just pass out come 10 PM. Will it work? I actually think it might backfire on me.
Also, the girls, being the more proactive group, have wisely started planning trips for our free weekends, so I'm hoping to capitalize on their wise planning and get a ticket to Capri and Venice.
